Environmental and Social Impact Assessment for Burgos Wind Project


The EDC Burgos Wind Power Corporation engaged GHD to advise on the environmental and social impact of a wind farm project.

GHD prepared an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) study for the 165 MW wind farm located in a 618 ha project development block that is situated in a site declared as a cultural resource (Palpalokada Landscape) and reserved as an area for tourist development.

Hornsdale Wind Farm


Hornsdale Wind Farm is a 315MW renewable energy project consisting of 99 wind turbines located in South Australia.

For renewable energy development company, Neoen, the Hornsdale site presented an opportunity to take advantage of outstanding winds and establish one of Australia’s most competitive renewable wind farm installations. Neoen Australia’s Managing Director, Frank Woitiez, described it as, “an extremely compelling project” with “broad support from the local community”.

Papua New Guinea Renewable Energy


The New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) committed at the Pacific Energy Summit to support the Papua New Guinea government in achieving the country's renewable energy goals. GHD has been engaged by MFAT to provide the advisory and engineering services to implement the aid programme that seeks to:

  • Expand access to electricity for particularly remote communities and facilitate further improvement
  • Maintain the percentage of electricity sourced from renewable and sustainable energy sources
  • Implement effective community engagement to identify local community requirements, concerns and expectations
  • Develop an appropriate business model for ongoing operation and ownership

After comprehensive research and investigations, a long list was developed and presented to MFAT that included several types of renewable projects. Three provinces were selected for the detailed studies which provided more opportunities to meet the programme objectives; Central Province, Eastern Highlands and East Sepik.

PG&E Nuclear Power Plant


GHD engineered and managed the dismantling of California’s first commercial nuclear reactor, shut down in the 1970s, and orchestrated removal of hazardous materials from the site.

Robert Ceic

Robert is a mechanical engineer with more than 20 years’ experience in power generation engineering, project development and project management gained through consulting, and engineering, procurement, and construction contractor organisations.

With a proven track record of coordinating and managing multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout all phases of thermal and renewable power generation projects, Robert possesses a firm technical and commercial knowledge base with numerous power technologies. Robert established a foundation skills set in the EPC delivery of major gas turbine power projects and draws on that practical project experience for the benefit of GHD’s clients and technical partners.

Actively involved in the industry, Robert is a fellow of the Australian Institute of Energy, a Chartered Professional Engineer, and member of the Institute of Engineers Australia.
