One of the world’s leading engineering, architecture, environmental and construction services companies, GHD is proud to be working with the NZ Transport Agency to enhance safety and travel time reliability on the State Highway 2 Pokeno to Mangatarata corridor improvement project in New Zealand.

This stretch of SH2 has a poor safety record and is operating at capacity, leading to queuing traffic and delays during holidays and summer weekends. GHD has been engaged by the NZ Transport Agency to carry out the safe system design, consenting and construction monitoring on Section B (the Mangatawhiri deviation). The key objectives are to reduce death and serious injuries, provide additional capacity, safer access for local communities, and provision for cyclists.

Sean Dowdall, GHD’s Transport Infrastructure Delivery Manager, says, “ We are proud to be working with the NZ Transport Agency to make this a safer road for all users.”
